Technology in the Classroom

     

Technology is Very important in today's society.  It allows teachers to create personal web pages so they can communicate with students, parents, as well as other colleagues.  While searching the web, I came across a web page designed by Mrs. Samuelsen.  She is a third grade teacher at Gregory Elementary School in Moweaqua Il.  I chose her page because I think third grade would be a fun grade to teach.      On her main page she has things such as upcomming events, the class projects for the week, a list of assignments for the students,  as well as links to study guides for students, the vocabulary word of the week, and also to an online version of their text book.  She also has a link to a website that has fun educational games that the students can play.  Aside from the main stuff on this page, she also has  many other links.      The ones I found particularly interesting were a meet the teacher page.  On this page she tells us a little about herself.  She also has a link to a page that tells the student schedule, and her classroom's discipline plan.  The most interesting link to me was a link to her students pages.  This link displayed every student in the class and links to their own personal web pages that they are creating.     Not only did Mrs. Samuelsen have wonderful links, but she also had a very clean and neat layout.  It is easy for students or teachers to see where the links are, and how to navigate from place to place.  In my opinion this is the best teacher website I have seen.
